Salary Range: 185,000 - $200,000
Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Distribution Strategic Sourcing, will lead enterprise-wide sourcing strategies focused on construction services supporting large-scale capital and infrastructure projects. This role is highly project-driven, with a strong emphasis on pre-planning, contractor strategy, and supplier selection for complex, multi-billion-dollar initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep experience managing procurement for major construction or EPC projects, with exposure to utilities such as power, gas, and electric infrastructure (including poles and distribution systems). This role operates at an enterprise level, driving sourcing strategies across multiple concurrent projects rather than a single project scope.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of enterprise-wide sourcing strategies for construction services across multiple large-scale capital projects
- Partner closely with project engineers, project managers, and cross-functional stakeholders during early planning and pre-construction phases
- Identify, evaluate, and select engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firms and service providers aligned with project requirements
- Manage sourcing and contracting activities for multi-billion-dollar portfolios (typically $3B–$4B in spend)
- Oversee the end-to-end contract lifecycle, from strategy and vendor selection through contract execution and governance
- Drive category management and supplier governance to optimize cost, performance, supplier diversity, and total value
- Lead complex negotiations and develop commercial strategies for high-value service contracts
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring alignment across enterprise priorities and sourcing strategies
- Establish and monitor KPIs, SLAs, and vendor performance metrics to ensure service excellence
- Conduct spend analysis, benchmarking, and business case development to support sourcing decisions
- Communicate sourcing strategies, risks, and performance insights to senior and executive leadership
- Lead and develop high-performing teams, including Portfolio Managers, Category Leads, and Procurement Managers
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or construction services procurement
- Proven experience managing sourcing for large-scale capital or infrastructure projects ($500M–$1B+ or higher)
- Strong experience in construction services procurement (NOT materials) at an enterprise level
- Experience working in EPC environments or large construction programs
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation, supplier strategy, and stakeholder management
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in utility industry (power, gas, electric distribution)
- Experience managing multi-billion-dollar spend portfolios ($3B–$4B+)
- MBA or advanced degree
- Certifications such as CPSM, Six Sigma, or equivalent
- Strong proficiency in SAP/SRM, Ariba, and sourcing/analytics tools
- Proven leadership experience managing large, cross-functional teams
