Job Title:  Senior Paralegal 

Location: Oakland, CA (Hybrid)

CLIENT LAPTOP WILL BE ISSUED. ANY OTHER ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT NEEDED TO BE PROVIDED BY RESPECTIVE SUPPLIER. WITH MANAGER PRIOR APPROVAL A PRE-DETERMINED AMOUNT FOR CELL PHONE AND INTERNET CAN BE EXPENSED MONTHLY.

Case Management:

  • Provide management and support of cases including, investigation and ongoing projects - including but not limited to, employment matters, litigations, regulatory filings and procedures, corporate filings and contracts
  • Review for issues and facts from depositions and other case-related documents; categorize documents based upon criteria from attorney
  • Prepare for and respond to discovery requests. Organize, prepare case documents and/or reports such as tables of authority, miscellaneous correspondence, reports for filing with regulatory agencies, standard pleadings, requests for production of documents, interrogatories, standard motions, requests for admissions, declarations, factual timelines, trial exhibits, hearing exhibits, preparation of testimony for hearings etc.?
  • Monitor docket activity, production schedules for hearings and discovery responses to help meet all deadlines
  • Proficient with Lexis/Nexis, Westlaw, and regulatory agency websites to conduct research
  • Research factual and legal issues, perform cite checking, editing, proofreading and general quality control to ensure compliance with court and/or regulatory agency rules and regulations? 

Other:

  • Develop recommendations to continuously improve case management, administration, and support
  • Proactively communicate status of cases with attorneys and team
  • Work closely with Discovery Team in all discovery related issues, including identification and review of custodians, documents, and data
  •  Assist with other special projects as assigned. 

Position Summary

The Senior Paralegal provides legal support to the law department. Research, compose, edit, and proofread pleadings, testimonies, memoranda, correspondence, reports, and various other documents. Prepare witnesses and assemble case materials, exhibits, and documents for meetings, hearings, and court appearances. Collaborate with attorneys, client groups, and other support staff to address and resolve various legal matters and compliance issues. Compose non-disclosure agreements regarding Client's policies, procedures, practices.

Qualifications Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of paralegal work experience
  • Master proficiency in law department software and technology 

Desired:

  • Paralegal Certificate
  • 7+ years of paralegal work experience
  • 10 years of Legal Assistant experience
  • Ability to provide direction to others and assign tasks to clerical staff
