Description:

**ONLY LOCAL CANDIDATES CURRENTLY **This is 100% onsite, but contractor can be “hybrid” since in-office is not yet a mandatory requirement. 

  •  **Worker can use a personal laptop that will be registered with the BYOD program. laptop (Dell, Apple) is desired on day 1.
  •  **50% travel is an estimate of travel time required by project managers to conduct project related site visits, and in-person office collaboration day. 
  • Personal vehicle for job site visit 
  •  **Regarding other equipment: worker will have at their designated office location (Oakland General Office) external monitors, keyboards, mouse, and computing equipment for their use. If contract worker wants this external computing equipment at their home / remote office, contract employee will have to purchase them at their own expense (Non-reimbursable). 
  • In-person office day travel expenses is NOT reimbursed.**Client will NOT provide PPE, the worker (with the help of employer) can do a one-time purchase of PPE and expense that cost; boots ARE NOT included in reimbursable PPE cost.
  •  **Client is NOT providing cell phones or pay for cell phone expense for contract employees, contract employee can work out cell phone needs.
  •  **Mileage from their designated office to project sites / locations is approved expense that contract employee can submit expense when mileage is accrued by visiting sites and job walks.

Summary:

This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, Senior Project Manager position that requires mastery of the journey level Project Manager job duties. Under general direction, exercises judgment and discretion and is responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects. Project duration is generally multi-year, requires significant risk management, and may include formal partnering agreements with outside firms. Assignments will have high visibility, require extensive project management skills and often require specific discipline and areas of expertise. 

 Job Responsibilities

  • Determines that project objectives are achievable.
  • Provides guidance to engineering on producing complex risk and alternative analyses, studies and conceptual designs for presentation to project sponsor. 
  • Oversees and administrates EPC contracts in accordance with ESC 
  • Work Oversight Committee 
  • Negotiates third party contracts, in support of other departments when appropriate.
  • Develops and champions company-wide best practices.
  •  Makes presentations to PG&E Officers as appropriate.
  •  Arbitrates and resolves conflicts within the project. 
  • Mentors and provide guidance to less experienced project managers.

 QualificationsMinimum:

Project Management Office (PMO) Analyst  

PG&E’s “Propel” program is a multi-year major business and IT transformation initiative with the primary objective of moving from SAP’s ECC version to a ‘greenfield, clean-core’ SAP S/4 HANA version for Finance, Human Resources, Environmental Health Safety, Supply Chain, Work & Asset Management. The PMO works collaboratively with leaders and others across the entire Program to forecast, manage, status, and mitigate issues with cost, schedule, resources, methodology and tools supporting several hundred internal and external resources. The Program is now entering its third year and transitioning from enterprise to detail design for the first of four major deployments. It is scheduled to complete in 2031.

Key responsibilities of the PMO Analyst (focus will be Resource Management):

The Propel Program Management Office (PMO) Controls Analyst is responsible for a variety of activities around developing, maintaining, managing and reporting on resource plans to execute Propel.  This role is responsible for working with the PG&E Propel leadership team, the System Implementation (SI) partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC), SAP consulting, and others to plan and manage the project staff - current focus is on Release 1 and then will be for subsequent releases 2-4.  There are over 1,000 positions being tracked as part of Propel which are being sourced by approximately 10 different internal and external companies.

• Resource Management:  Manage the project’s staffing plan estimates through engaging various teams to confirm existing members, forecast the type of resources needed, record changes up or down, clarify timing, and use change control processes if those plans change significantly.  May be involved with collaborating with Contract Management team to validate adherence to staffing contracts.

• Partner with the Portfolio On-Boarding/Off-Boarding Team: Provide on-boarding/off-boarding forecasts on a regular basis to help manage workloads.  Develop summarized status reporting of on-boarding requests for resources currently in progress.

• Resource Reporting:  Work with Team leaders to report current and forecasted staffing levels at a leadership team level.  

• Collaborate with Financial Team: Provide detailed analysis of resource changes for accurate financial forecasting of Propel’s spend on a monthly basis.

• Data Analysis: Utilize various data sources to analyze and report data as needed.

• Meeting Facilitation: Schedule and facilitate resource management meetings using various materials to communicate and gather resource statuses to the various Propel teams.

• Support PMO Director as needed – Given dynamic nature of SAP implementations, support any number of asks of the PMO from the leadership and others as required.

 Proficiency/Required Skills:

•  Written and Oral Communication Skills – Ability to works effectively with personnel at all levels, summarize complex topics, engage with people from a variety of parts of the organization.

• Excel – managing multiple, large spreadsheets. Using filters, hide/unhide, freeze panes, producing graphs.  

•  MS-Office suite: PowerPoint, Outlook, Calendar, TEAMS, Excel and Word.

Work Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in similar role in a Program Management Office – ideally  

   on large Software programs and/or SAP Project.
