Pay $130k - 155k/ Annum

Description:

  • **Open to both local and non-local candidates but strong preference to those that are located in the Bay Area.** The roles are hybrid. The minimum onsite time at OGO would be monthly, the team generally works onsite at OGO 60-80% time.
  • **Client laptop will be provided; the selected hires may use their personal or supplier provided device in the interim in case of major delays
  • **With manager's prior approval, they may expense a set pre-determined amount for cell and internet monthly

The Grid Research, Innovation, and Deployment group (GRiD) is charting the future of the utility and the energy industry as part of the Utility Partnerships & Innovation business.

Role Summary:

The Product Manager will coordinate the delivery and go-to-market execution for a new residential smart panel and EV charger grid edge product suite designed to significantly reduce customer costs and installation timelines. This role focuses on translating product strategy into field deployment outcomes, managing cross-functional coordination, and ensuring a successful field demonstration throughout 2026 leading to a scaled deployment beyond.

This role is fast-paced, cross-functional, and ideal for someone who excels at building structure, managing stakeholders, and driving products from concept to field deployment. As this is very early stage, the ideal candidate will be flexible as the responsibilities for this role are expected to evolve and grow over time.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Support development and refinement of operational workflows with Service Planning & Design and other internal teams, including installation, inspection, and commissioning pathways.
  •  Coordinate with supply chain teams and external vendors to ensure product availability, logistics readiness, and delivery performance.
  •  Align field deployment activities with regulatory requirements, internal standards, and utility safety protocols.
  •  Troubleshoot process issues and escalate barriers to leadership with recommended solutions.
  •  Develop and maintain a customer acquisition funnel for residential installations, including marketing coordination and channel outreach.
  •  Partner with internal PG&E customer programs (e.g., EV, home electrification, energy efficiency) to identify eligible customers and integrate product offerings.
  •  Stand up and manage a trusted electrician/installer network, including training, coordination, performance monitoring, and ongoing engagement.
  •  Support development of program materials, customer journeys, and customer-facing content in partnership with marketing teams and vendors.
  •  Establish and oversee post-installation processes, including customer service workflows, troubleshooting pathways, and escalation protocols.
  •  Serve as day-to-day liaison between customers, installers, and product vendors to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  •  Track and analyze operational performance metrics (installation time, customer satisfaction, support cases) to drive continuous improvement.
  •  Identify process gaps and propose enhancements to improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
  •  Support development of user guides, FAQs, and support documentation for both customers and installers.

Qualifications:

  •  Strong experience in product delivery, product management, program management, or operations – preferably in the energy, utility, construction, technology or related sectors (EV or home electrification).
  •  Strong understanding of utility processes (service planning, design, permitting, field operations) or ability to learn them rapidly.
  •  Comfortable building customer funnels, managing channel partners, and supporting marketing-driven deployment strategies.
  •  Demonstrated experience improving operations, customer support workflows, or field deployment processes.
  •  Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with proven ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
  •  Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment with lots of ambiguity and limited supervision.
  •  Ability to travel locally for trainings, field visits, and installer engagement events as needed.
  •  Passion for electrification, DERs, EV charging, and the grid of the future is a plus.
  •  A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or its equivalent in education and experience. Plus 8 years’ experience in product management, project management, program management, marketing, engineering, operations and/or construction if PG&E / 9 years if outside hire.
  •  Specific experience with PG&E or similar electric utilities desired.
