Sr. Financial Analyst / Senior Portfolio Planning & Investment Analyst
Job Location: Oakland, CA - Hybrid - 2 days per week

Job Summary
Looking for Senior to Expert-level analyst who can operate at a portfolio decision-support level, not just reporting or dashboard development. This role supports Integrated Grid Planning (IGP) and requires candidates who understand how capital investment portfolios are structured, evaluated, and optimized under financial constraints. The Integrated Grid Planning (IGP) organization is seeking a Senior Portfolio Planning & Investment Analyst to support the development of optimized, multi-year electric investment plans. This role focuses on portfolio-level analysis, evaluating financial tradeoffs, and translating analytical outputs into clear, decision-ready insights for leadership. Ideal candidates bring experience in capital planning, financial analysis, and investment decision support.

- Experience with capital planning, investment analysis, or portfolio-level decision support (not just reporting)Strong understanding of financial structures (cost, risk, benefits) and investment tradeoffs under constraints
- Ability to translate complex analytical outputs into clear, decision-ready insights for leadership
Technical Skills Set
- Experience with capital planning and enterprise systems (SAP preferred; exposure to Copperleaf, Foundry, or similar tools a plus)
- Strong Excel and Power BI skills for modeling, analysis, and portfolio-level reporting
- Experience with multi-year investment planning, scenario analysis, or portfolio optimization
- Ability to work with large, complex datasets and connect outputs to financial and planning decisions
Soft Skills
- Strong structured problem-solving, with ability to evaluate tradeoffs and develop decision options Ability to connect data → financial constraints → portfolio decisions → executive outcomes
- Effective communication and storytelling skills for leadership-facing deliverables
